Why after dinner coffee and nap are good for you?
1. a) Design an experiment with your teacher's help to investigate the effects
of drinking coffee on both pulse rate and blood pressure (you will need a stopclock, strong coffee and apparatus for measuring blood pressure.)
b) Does the test give different results if it is carried out before and
immediately after lunch?
2. a) Why are elderly people more prone to dizzy spells after a heavy meal
than younger people?
b) Why might it be a good idea for older people to take a nap after a
heavy meal?
3. Explain the short term benefit, but long term damage, caused by eating
a high fat diet.
